HEKO WAKENYA
Blood was anticipated, doom was predicted. "It will rain bullets and
bombs alike", they said. So in fear and trepidation we all ran like
scatter birds to the land of grandma and grandpa where they speak the
same language as we do and were created in the same shade we were. All
fingers were crossed by both the young & old each praying for a
miracle directed to abatement of the impending chaos threatening our
mother land Kenya, a habitat of peace; or rather it was before 07/08.
Doors were locked, no one was to be trusted, not even the local
pastor~who btw bought a dozen pangas and shokas in preparation;for what?
I wondered...the day finally arrived~Monday the 7th. By mid-morning,
all TVs were switched on to witness the Saba Saba rally from the
comfort & safety of homes~but alas-no live airing( a blessing we
soon discover). The rally went on,no demonstartions or violence. 9 Days
later-still no violence. We proved the doomsayers wrong! Heko Wakenya!!
